What will I get if I breed two normals?
I'm looking into breeding, but don't have a lot of money to sink in.
I'm wondering if I can just breed two normals? Will I get one of the many morphs, or just normals?

or if I just get a female normal, and get a male morph would that work?

Normal to normal will produce all normals.

Please read more on breeding before jumping into it, there's a lot you need to learn besides just sticking two snakes together willy-nilly.

    Yes.......

To answer your thread question - Normals.

Here - http://www.worldofballpythons.com/wizard/ if you choose nothing at all for either column, it will default as a normal Ball Python for that column. I agree with what Daybreaker said - you really need to read up on breeding more, and educate yourself before jumping into it. It's not a matter of just sticking two snakes into the same tub. There is loads of information on this site if you are willing to take the time to sit and read it all.

A normalxnormal will result in all normals.

A normalxbumblebee would give you normals, spiders, pastels, and bumblebees. Although depending on the "odd gods" you could wind up with any combination of the above morphs.

Just some basics. Nothing fancy or too into depth.

    normal x normal = normal
Normal x single gene morph = 50% normals, 50% morph
Normal x visual recessive morph = normal looking offspring that carry the recessive gene (100% het)

    Ok thanks.
I'm not looking to jump into it. I'm waiting a few years. I'm just researching on what kind of BP to get as of now to let it grow and learn more about it.

Been researching a few weeks, but couldn't anything about this subject so I thought this would the perfect place, I was right. :D

Re: What will I get if I breed two normals?
you should first learn how codominant morphs like pastel and pinstripe and cinnamon work, and how the super forms work.

then learn the recessives, like albino or clown or ghost.

and then the gene complexes, like mojave / mystic / butter / lesser / special / russo, or albino / toffee / candy.

that should be it, from easy to difficult.

Dude, the very first thing that pops up when you search normal x normal is a link to theroyalconstrictor and the answer is even under the link in that search right on the google page.

A few weeks vs a minute. Don't be scurred of the search engine and welcome.

    ;)
