    FedEx destroys shipment
400 rats ordered from loxahatchee Rodents were shipped to me on Tuesday. Wednesday the tracking stopped updating in Orlando. Friday shipment is due in. Friday evening no shipment called FedEx here is what they said...

"Sir the tracking label fell off your box at the Orlando distribution center and we were unable to locate it. We opened the box for a possible packing list for additional information but found dead rats that were thawed and smelling. We were forced to destroy your package. You can call your seller to have them take care of you as FedEx is not liable in this case"

Sent an email to loxahatchee since they do not list nor give a phone number even in their Paypal statements and invoice. Notified them on Friday evening what had happened and received zero word from the company. After paying $107 just in shipping charges I am quite disturbed with the way FedEx treated the situation and the complete lack of common knowledge to check tracking records to see what was scanned in that office to try and deduce what package it was. On top of that learning what the tracking number was early on that morning and not calling the customer , myself, was another rough move.

Next time you order rodents. Beware in Florida something is certainly off about that hub and the way the situation was handled. As of today still no response from loxahatchee. Luckily to say the least I paid via PayPal and credit card both offering buyer protection. So ill open a ticket tomorrow evening should I not get a reply by this time.

    Just ranting and Informing

    Cheers

So sorry this happened to you Cody. I've never ordered from Loxahatchee so I can't comment on how good they are or aren't, but if they do not handle this to your satisfaction, I've had really great customer service from Layne Labs. Their shipping is a bit higher, but when I had an error in my order, I called and the guy had the problem fixed instantly!! They were really great and easy to get ahold of. I hope everything works out for you with Loxahatchee. I've heard good stuff about them, it'd be a shame if they don't take care of this - since the label fell off your package, it seems they should do something.

I ended up going ahead and starting a PayPal resolution center dispute before a claim and they responded within an hour of the dispute going out with a full refund and an apology that it took so long to get in touch since Jim the owner was on vacation till Wednesday. They also said they would not be able to fill my order anytime soon with their current availability. Here's hoping monster feeders pulls through for me this evening. Waiting to hear back from Matthew Martin.

    Cheers

Well, at least they're giving you a full refund. Funny how they responded as soon as you filed the paypal complaint. But sometimes I'm pessimistic so maybe it really was a coincidence. Again, at least they're resolving it for you.

Hope you are able to get some rats in soon - those retics are not going to be very patient!!! :D
