Terrible Boredom/Pet Rock
Hello all. I'm here to say that, as of now, I'm feeling the terrible feeling of boredom towards my ball python as his activity is limited to being held and during feeding. Within the confines of his terrarium, he is never seen out of hiding neither during the day or evening. He is essentially a pet hole, as I see him. Despite this, he is highly alert when handled and very active and curious when removed from his terrarium. And no, I do not use his boring behavior as an excuse to neglect him- he is a healthy and well rounded, 2 ft python with water available to him at all times and kept at correct temperatures. He has never refused a meal, nor has he ever regurgitated. I theorize that the fact I feed him two adult mice every feeding instead of one may contribute to his inactivity. (Maybe I'm overfeeding him...)
Anyway, he's my only reptile as of now. Are all ball pythons like pet rocks, because if so, I'm not a ball python kind of guy, and then what do you suggest I do?
Re: Terrible Boredom/Pet Rock
A Hiding Ball Python is a happy one. I saw Doolittle say that and it's perfect. They don't make good display pets because they aren't active and if they are it could be cause for concern.
