Is this mouth rot? Or something else?
I opened my big girl's cage to find this today. I already have an appointment set up for tomorrow first thing at 8a. How bad is this and how worried should i be. In 4 or 5 years of having ball pythons ive never had this happen. Also should quarantine be implemented?

It looks like a cyst or an abscess. I would quarantine until the vet appointment.

Ill keep everyone updated. Ya its leaking pus and developed very quickly. last night it was half this size and the day before barely noticeable. i have her quarantined and i had my bumblebee male with her last week so he is quarantined as well but he shows no symptoms. ill post tommorow when i know more.

Please share an update when you have one! I have seen something similar but the snake in that situation wasn't leaking pus or anything - just random swelling. The folks that had that snake took it to the vet and theirs gave them general antibiotics, which eventually made the swelling go down. Never did find out what caused it in their case.

Curious what happens here. Good luck!!!

Poor girl. I had a male burm who's face swelled up. He shed one day and his jaw, throat and everything were just huge. So i took him out of his cage and put him in the bath tub until i could get a QT tub done. came back in and the swelling went down almost all the way.Took him to the vet and she said there were no infections or anything. She said that she has seen it before, just random swelling and as soon as the snake gets in a warm bath or starts moving it goes away. So weird. Hope to hear good new from the vet
