hi
http://www.angelfire.com/ultra/bramm...9-1909_IMG.JPG
As the title implies and the photo shows, Suki had a great shed over the weekend. He even posed for me, he was so proud. I had been anxiously awaiting this shed because his last one, back in December, happened just as he came into our care. The pet store we got him from did not maintain proper humidity, and he had a very difficult shed. I'm happy to report that this one was very easy. I had made a humid hide for him and kept the humidity around 70%. I lifted out his cave Saturday afternoon to find his skin all in one piece, though all balled up. On the other side of the cave was, of course, the requisite poop. Naturally, I spent the next two hours cleaning, disinfecting, and sanitizing, but it was very gratifying nonetheless.

2 hours??? On one cage?? LOL.....if I did that it would take me a couple of days to clean my cages, lol. :D

Congrats! Very nice picture.

Well, that 2 hours does include letting the tank, the hides, the water dish, and the vines soak in bleach/water solution, then rinsing everything really well and letting it air dry. I only do that once a month. In between I just spot clean as needed. It's worth it for me though to know I'm providing a healthy environment for such a beautiful creature. We're developing a schedule around here. Pretty much the first Saturday of every month is devoted to cleaning and disinfecting our herp cages, and its funny, but neither Smulkin nor I seem to mind. :D

Wow David, I was glad to see that I wasn't the only one who gawked at a two hour cleaning session!!
I must say tho Smynx, Suki is one handsome little devil!!

Thanks, everyone. I'm pretty proud of him. Smulkin takes care of most of the reptiles in the house, but Suki and Zephyr (my water python) are all mine.
