For many breeders there are one maybe two projects that just seem to elude them over the year's we've been blessed to hatch out some really amazing 3,4 even 5 gene stuff but there are two morphs that have evaded our incubator and they are Hypo's and pieds. Long story is that we picked up a hypo male, het hypo female, 66%poss het hypo and a mojo het hypo female from Adam Wysocki a few years ago. Well both the het and the mojo het came in and abruptly stopped eating. So we focused on the poss het who was bigger at the time. So we bred her to our het male and wouldn't ya know it all slugs 6 of them :rage::rage::rage: So then last year again mojo het and het were to small for my liking so we bred the poss het again and yep you guessed it 5 slugs and one egg that turned out to be a het female :rage::rage:
Fast forward to this year the Het female and mojo het and the poss het are all going good. The het lays egg, good viable egg's 5 of them :banana::banana:, then about 3 weeks later comes time for the Poss het female fingers crossed :please::please: and 6 great looking eggs :banana::banana::banana::banana:, now about a week later time for the mojo het and yep her too 4 great looking eggs.
Fast forward 60 days and the Hypo x Het female clutch is pipping YES!!! Hypo's 3 of them at that.. Ok breath, come back two days later to check on them :O:O All 5 are dead in the egg. :tears::tears::tears::tears:
Now its just up to a poss het - MEH and 4 eggs from a mojo het hypo x hypo..
day 55 Rolls around for the Poss het X Hypo and BOOM!!! hypo's 3 hypos out of 5 eggs out of a poss het!! LOVE IT
Now time for 4 Egg's :please::please: Clip the first egg Mojo het Hypo
Clip the second egg mojo het hypo
clip the third egg and pray mojo het hypo
Down to one egg.. and it's a girl.. Finally some recessive stuff..now don't get me started on Pieds :rage::rage::rage::rage:
