Tips on getting first time males started breeding
I have an almost 600g one year old male bumblebee that has been producing sperm plugs for over a month. I am hoping to breed him with two females this year. Do you rotate younger first time males with your females any differently than experienced males? More days in with a female at a time, less days at a time? Any tips on getting first time males started?

I also would like to know. This will be my first breeding season, and I only have 1 male I really hope to breed.. I probably should have gotten a backup male haha :P. Oh well :gj:.

Oh.. so my post isn't TOO useless, I read from Susan at UKExotics that sometimes, driving around with the male inside a box for about 15 minutes, then putting him in with a female will sometimes trigger him to breed.

I haven't done it, but the shed skin of another sexually mature male in the cage with the female is supposed to get them fired up.

Get the snakes out for a group shot and wait until your male starts dragging his hemipenes all over the bed

At least that's what happened to me earlier this summer, lol! I was so excited since it seemed like I wouldn't have to encourage him, but then my one breedable female came down with an RI :( Going to wait till next season

Tips for difficult breeders or for first timer:

    Use another male sperm plug

Watch the weather and pair when a storm comes through.

Threesome (yeah I said it :p)

smere it on the back of the female near the vent ;)

I have found cooling the smaller males will help them get into the mood.
We bred a 440 gram fire male last season and got a clutch of 9 good eggs from his girlfriend.

This might seem like a dumb question, but...

1.2 or 2.1? I don't want the male to be uncomfortable or anything.

Pretty sure a devil's three way is a bad idea bc if one male wins the fight for the female then the other one loses his mojo and might not breed.

Or am i wrong here? Im just going off of what ive heard.
