Baby Python on small mice

Today I'm going to feed Herman his first meal. I intend to get him on F/T, but since he's so young and in a new environment, I thought it might be best to give him a live meal or two first.

The mouse I picked up at the pet store is a bit bigger than his girth. Comparatively speaking, it's a bit larger than the frozen mice I purchased. I didn't get a weight on Herman before getting him settled into his new home, but he was hatched on June 6th and weighed 70g at birth.
Is there any chance that a small adult feeder mouse is going to be too much for my new little man?

PS- Why do the feeder mice have to be SO cute! Argh! I can't wait to flip to F/T. :(

PS- Any veteran suggestions, I'm all ears & appreciative. I am a little worried about the proces given that he's in a larger enclosure, but based on my readings here, I don't want to feed him in a separate container, so I'll just have to make sure I keep a close eye on everyone and don't lose the mouse!

why don't you just try feeding him on F/T unless this is his first meal?

Live. Sorry- I should have specified that in my original post.

I personally feed live anyway but I had a hatchling at 65g take a small mouse as it first meal, I was shocked. Now at 85g she will take two small mice If I give it to her.

As long as the mouse is just a little bigger than the fatest part of your snake, he will be just fine. ;)

if your planning or feeding F/T in the future, Id give the F/T a shot for a week or two,,, just to see what hapens.

Having just started to dabble in switching small snakes, I'd say let it get over 100g before willingly withholding food by only offering F/T.

What I've been doing is keeping the live feeder and trying F/T, when it is refused I feed live.

I'm pretty sure any size hatchling could take down a small adult mouse, just observe the process carefully.
