Freshly Shed Pied Hatchlings
These guys have neat story to them (at least I think so). My pied and het pied locked up once or twice near the end of 2011, along with my other bps who were locking. Then I moved at the end of the year and when I tried to resume breeding none of them were having any of it, including the sire and dam of this clutch. The move just jacked with their interest in breeding. So I just wrote this season off as being lost, and wasn't expecting anything.
Well lo and behold one day I'm cleaning cages and find 7 eggs under my pied girl! She hadn't been eating, but I chalked it up to just one of those "bp things." Since she had only locked twice, I wasn't expecting eggs so wasn't looking for any signs of her being gravid. Anyways, I couldn't believe I got 7 eggs from 2 locks! Unfortunately 4 of them went bad (first bp eggs I ever lost), but I still managed to hatch 1.1 pieds and 1.0 het pied. I'll be holding back the girl. Hatching pieds just never gets old!!
