witch is better to sex

what do you guys think is a better way to sex your bp a probe kit or just popping

I'm to scared to try myself. I have a friend probe. :O

Probing.

Both.. I pop and probe. I pop babies and probe older snakes. I sometimes probe babies after a few meals and a couple sheds to double check if i had any doubts. Before selling or giving away any snake I always pop and probe to double check again if it's a youngster.

It is not uncommon for females to probe male on one side.

Males from juvie on up can hold it in which makes it difficult to pop.

Popping is the easiest thing to do, it will require practice if you have limited experience.

Probing is easy too but not necessary if you know how to pop additionally I would not recommend probing if you do not have any experience doing so, you could injure your animal so best would be to have someone teach you and if someone teach you one method they will be able to teach you both.

I agree on popping is easier and safer. Generally, the younger they are, the easier they are to pop.

I've had no success popping bigger juvis or adults so with them I probe. Smaller snakes I pop.

I will had that I pop 99% of the time the only time I ever had to probe were with some very tense adult otherwise I pop hatchlings and adults.

I like to pop first. If it looks female or is supposed to be a male who won't show his penes I will then proceed with probing to confirm.

Popping. Easier, safer, and more accurate. Granted these are all my opinions, but I believe a lot of people share my opinion.
