Determined to get to the bottom of things...

I have 3 opportunities of producing a panda pied this season. With my pewter pieds both breeding and the pewter het pieds, my chances should be pretty favorable. I think there could be more but certain issues are keeping them hidden. I won't say for sure until I see for myself.

This girl is an august 2010 hatchling and she is only a few grams shy of the 2000 mark....and breeding like a rabbit.

im still thinking the original panda was a paradox. an all white pied morph that when the paradox spots are showing, a solid black snake hides beneath the white.

I'm not quite sure I understand your idea. Having seen what the cinny/pied gene does first hand I'm not sure I would call it a paradox. I'm not saying I am right, I'm just not sure what to think about it. I haven't seen a pic of the original panda since 2009. I bet it has quite a few random black spots by now. I'll get some fresh pics of the male this afternoon.

I'm curious if your hypothesis might relate to the super cinny kinking issue ..?

My last three BP purchases have been various cinny/super cinny pied project animals, and I'm starting to get nervous about the whole super cinny thing given everything I've read ...

Yes. This is exactly what I suspect. I have only had two Super Cinnies hatch with kinks. One was barely noticeable but the other was a trainwreck....but I have hatched out several Silver Bullets and Super Pewters with zero problems. Maybe mine could be chalked up to incubation. We shall see. I'll definitely keep you posted.
