Very cool looking little snakes! Is fish their primary diet? Or just when they're babies? How big do they get?

Because I am infatuated with Garter Snakes, and Natrix are the European cousins of the same Natricine Snake group composed of Thamnophis (Garter snakes), Nerodia (Water Snakes), Storeria (Dekayi & Red Belly) & Natrix.

They only recently showed up in US collections.

Just about every web site starting with the name Thamnophis is either mine, or a close friends.

The only natrix I've even seen is a melanistic tessellata that a friend imported many years ago.

Cools snakes, good luck breeding them. It would be nice to have a stateside source for these.

The guy I got mine from had 138 of them, and almost every garter fan I know obtained some, so I have a feeling the little Natrix are here to stay.
