Abnormal Bee?

I've posted this girl along side her nicer looking sib before wondering about the differents in color betwwen them. It got me thinking about her coloring.

It is common for Bumble Bees to have no yellow on them?

She appears to have no yellow. More orangey, peachy, tan look. I've seen many Bumble bees (for sale and pics), and they all have some sort of yellow. It this one just really drab or what......

Yes, I know this happens. I have never seen a bumble bee without some kind of yellow. Even the dirty ones have some kind of yellow on them.

Have you ever seen a brown and white bumble bee???

Yep. All the time. Yours is just a lot younger than most. The future doesn't look bright... lol.

That's odd. I would think that the pastel gene would have some effect. All the pastels and the other bees in the clutch have nice yellow coloring.

Maybe the sibs got all the color and there no more left for her:)

Sorry to say...That is just a low quality Bee. Still a nice BP, just not a good example of the Bee morph.

I don't think it's a spider. I hatched a few of those this year also and they look nothing like each other.

I was thinking the same thing until my spiders hatched 2 weeks later.

I was just thinking that she looked odd( having no yellow, AT ALL), but I guess it happens more than I thought. I have never seen a bumble bee for sale that looks like her. Do breeders that produces these "dirty" bees sell them or just not even offer them for sale?

I think she's kinda cool looking....and it's a female so she's worth keeping.

I do not think it is abnormal. Sadly, i think you just produced or bought a very low quality bee.
But, it is defiantly not a spider. just a not so good bee. :(

As pastels vary in yellow so will your bees.

Spiders and bees tend to throw speckles of color here and there so I am sure you will see some yellow speckling. Looks like it will be a browner one overall though.
