    selling bp
    The wife wants to breed our female pastel (atleast a year away). My quastion is how well do bp sell? I would be only have one clutch. Will I be able to sell them fairly easy, or will I be stuck with bunch of extra mouths to feed?

    I agree with you some, but I don't think just worrying about them not selling is the only reason someone should not breed if it's something they really want to do. It's sounds like the jmitch isn't really interested in breeding but his wife is.

    @jmitch
    My advise to you is if you are looking to make money from breeding don't waste your time. It is a lot of work to breed BPs and you are not going to make much money doing it. If you aren't looking to make money and just want to breed for the fun of it I would check with your local pet stores and see if they would be interested in buying your babies. They're aren't going to offer you a lot of money for them, but after a few meals you can sell them to the pet store and not have to worry about feeding them any longer. That being said, you need to be prepared to incubate and house the babies until they are ready for a new home.

    I am not worried about housing them, or feeding. I have a female pastel. If I breed with just spider x butter. I will end up with pastels just name of the game. Just wanted toknow how hatd they will be to sell. I dont want 10 pastels. Not looking toget richof this it is something gor her to do when I deploy. She is stay at home mom so time is not a issue either.

    Selling is the hardest part, you need to have animals that people want and you need to established yourself if people don't know you they are not likely to buy from you unless you are dealing locally.

    Out of all snakes, ball pythons, especially morphs, are the most easy to sell, IMO. That is not saying that just anyone can sell them. You have to know how to advertise.

    It really depends on certain things. You have to ask yourself are you gonna have enough food for the babies at the time they are born. Where do you live? Any regulations? Know people who are interested in buying snakes from you? Willing to ship or just local? Of course also what morphs you will be working with seems to determin if you will sell or not opps prices too.

    I would have food for babies. We would ship would just have to learn how to. Regs all depends were military tranfers me too. Atm I have female pastel. have not decide on a male. atm I am aiming towards butter x spider. seems like a good combo, and they have good looking babies if lucky with the odds.

    The way I read your post is that you are looking to sell them to make a quick buck and don't care enough for the babies to want to take care of them. I may be misreading you though...I hope I am anyway.

    Edit: This is just my reasoning behind my initial post.
