    6qt for mice and asf?
I know when some people breed mice and ASFs they use shoebox size lab tubs, but is a sterilite 6qt really enough for a 1.2? The only reason I'm asking is I can't find anything else with a relatively similar height so the babies can reach the water (except cat litter pans which I'm not sold on yet.. they seem pretty expensive for what you're getting). I wouldnt keep more than 1.2 ASFs in them and no more than 1.3 mice. I'm still not sure if these are what I want for my rack, but the $2 a piece I can get them for sure is a lot nicer than the $6 I would have to pay for litter pans. Thoughts?

6qt tubs are not enough room for breedign rodents. Also will be really hard to setup in a rack system due to small lips on the top.

Would stick with the litter pans as you can get them online in packs that cost about 2.49 per litter pan.

have to search for pet mate litter pans. Use only the Small or medium size for mice. Shipping will be about $20 or so as a case of them will weight about 10-15lbs. Its alot cheaper than paying 4-5 in stores since most stores discontinued them.

They brought in new pans that have curves in them and dont work in racks anymore. You could use 15qt sterilite tubs and make them work if you cant get the pans shipped. Put water bottle outside, make lid with hole for screen and food hopper.

I use large and medium petmate litter pans, plenty of room for 1.5-8 and their babies. Easy to clean, and most importantly, no ridges for the rodents to chew on...
6qt shoeboxes are way too small, and the ridges give them the opportunity for escape(regardless of what people say...).
you can get them retail online for $2.50-3 each shipped if you buy a bunch of them...
Or, find a friend that can get them wholesale, they're about $1.35 each that way....
