green poo O.o

first time making a thread so if this isnt the place i'd be greatful if it was moved

i let my female out to chill in the bed with me i feel something wet on my leg, look down she went #2 i notice there was a bit of green in her stuff, so i am wondering what caused this, and does she need to be checked out? ...thnxz to anyone you answers. -.-

note: my temps aren't on point but aslong as she's warm has humidity,and is eating everythings ok.

was it solid, or diahrea?

A bit more detail is required here.

Is it a normal poo? looks like a cat poo sort of with fur in in perhaps a fox might be better.

A lot of green or just a bit?

Is there a lot of mucus?

a few dots of greenish material is likely ok. But green and slimy (lots of mucus) could be a bacteria infection and having it checked out is wise.

It is a question of amounts small amounts could be something the rat or mouse ate that the snake didn't fully digest either. Large amounts is coming form the snake and is a sign of something more serious.

I hope your baby is ok! That sucks that she pooped in your bed. (Not particularly helpful, I know, but all I have to offer is best wishes...)

I just noticed the cryptic remark about temps... What are your temps?

Urates are sometimes greenish, and can be eliminated at the same time as poo.

And just FYI...I'm assuming you've never fed your snake wild-caught rodents...but commercial rodent poisons turn the rodent poo a bright blueish green. I don't know if feeding a poisoned rodent to your snake would change the color of their poo as well, but they'd definitely make your snake sick.

They don't kill them with poisons to sell for feeding, do they? Surely that's not what you're saying? :O

No...no no no. I said wild caught rodents. In other words, it's a very bad idea to feed your snake rodents you might trap around your house or property. Even if you don't have trapped bait set out in your own house, your neighbor might.

I can't know exactly what the OP is describing, because we can't see it and only have a few vague words to go by. Most likely it's just some urates mixed with the poo. But I did wonder if the poo itself was visibly green or partially so, what might cause it? The color of poisoned rodent poo came immediately to mind, so I thought I'd mention it.

blueberrypancakes Just for your curiosity typically feeder rodents are euthanized with gas. Usually CO2 is used. If done correctly it is painless and gentle (sleep and then death). This method is approved method in Canada by the college of vets as humane I am fairly certain that the same is true in the USA too. There are other methods that are fast and painless but gassing is efficient with larger numbers like what you see with the bigger suppliers. Personally it is important to me to know that the feeders were healthy and raised in a stress free and good conditions and that the end of life was as free from suffering as possible. I have actually checked the suppliers I use.

humidity is 55-60 as far as heat goes its 80.. dont own a thermostat cause money is well yea know tight, might not be the best but i do as much as i can for her each week.
