Best plastic cage???
Hey everyone, my ball python is gettin big and i really want to move him out of his glass tank and into a bigger pastic one. Does anyone know any good websites for it??? i think it will be much easier to ontrol temps and humidity in a pastic one. Also, does anyone know how much it would be just to take my ball python in to the Vet for a check up?

How big is he? If he is larger, a 32 or 41 qt sterilite storage tub works well, just drill/melt some holes in the side (Start with less and then put more in after monitoring humidity). You can get these at walmart/target/lowes/etc. Just make sure the lid is secure, lots of people use clips on each side.
If smaller, 15 qt works well for a while.

i want something like this http://npicages.com/36_stackable_cage.html still display but more secure for him and easier to controll temps

Some people like rickys reptile enclosures, he has videos on you tube, check them out. As for vets, phone a few in your area and have a look! If the 'propper' cages are too expensive then look at steralite or rubbermaid tubs, or even the generic no name brands, they're all very cheap!!

But is there any that can be used with heat lamps

You can fashion a screen top and get a rather large bin and use a heat lamp. If the bin is not clear, cut out a viewing window and screw or silicone plexiglass. This will still be cheaper than most large cases you buy.

i think im just going to get a PVC cage with a radient heat pannel

Yup that's a great option. I'm a fan of boaphile plastics and animal plastics, though there are many options out there. I find boaphiles are a bit sturdier, but also pricier.

I would stick with either UTH or Radiant heat for a plastic enclosure. One of the main benefits to using plastic cages is their ability to hold humidity. Cutting a big hole in the top to put a heat lamp up there would defeat that purpose...

I'm gonna use the 36" stackable npi cage when my girl (& any future bp's) needs it.
