Ever had eggs survive at 94 degrees?

I screwed up. Put the egg box too close to the heat panel. 2 eggs were at about 93, 94 degrees for around 4 days or so. The other 3 in the clutch move when I candle them but the 2 that were hottest aren't. I probably cooked them, huh?

I wish I could advise anything other than keep candling them and see if the veins dissapear or stay strong. :(

My buddy has a incubator ranging from 84 bottom to 92 top and hatch fine.. The higher temp will cause them to hatch faster..

Thanks. That at least gives me some of that precious "maybe I didn't completely screw it up" hope. Really doesn't make sense why the eggs on the outside survived and the outer ones wouldn't have, when there was only a 1-2 degree difference. I'm gonna check on them again when I get home to see if my paranoia is still warranted. This clutch is from Pewter x Cinny that I've been working toward for 5 years. I want a 100% hatch rate this season!

Were you too hungry for some boiled eggs and your closest 7-11 has run out? :D

You may be OK.
High temps can cause deformed babies though.

Had a clutch that was 2 days from hatching that got to 95 degrees for about 24 hours...lost all 7 eggs. Keep candling and see what happens but that is a pretty extended high temp. Yes, higher temps will decrease incubation time, but there is a very fine line as to what they can and cannot survive. I wish you the best of luck and hope the end result is a positive one for you.

I had not one but two heat spikes last year that put my eggs at about 99 degrees for a full day (both times) and all eggs survived and the babies all came out fine. Not saying it's great for them but nobody can sit there and say that in the wild they stay at a perfect 89 degrees the whole time without ups and downs in temp. just not possible. These things are a lot less delicate than most people think.
