    Ideas for my new snake?
Ok I have a normal female bp, but I want something to go along with her.

    My wants:
    • 4-5 ft length
    • slender body (thinner than bp)
    • not twitchy or super excited
    • COLORFUL!!!!
    • <$200 price

    Any ideas???

I've been thinking Aussie python (Stimson's or other Children's Python) but then I was told about old world rat snakes. What makes them diff than new world rat snakes??

corn snake or king snake? Old world rats are great, but they tend to be pricey, especially if you're talking about CBB animals.. The smaller python species are very small, for males its 2-3 feet or so. Hondurans can get to 6-7 feet long for older animals.

    New snake
Dont go with old world rats. they're really pricey. Try a jungle carpet python. This is probably the best fit snake for your situation. :snake::snake::snake::snake::snake::snake::snake::snake::snake::snake::snake::sn ake::snake::snake::snake::snake::snake::snake::snake::snake::snake::snake::snake ::snake::snake::snake::snake::snake::snake::snake::snake::snake::snake::snake:

Yes, they really are iridescent like that in person!

I know a guy who has young ones for around $125. He goes to the Scott smith often I believe.

Wow the rainbow is gorgeous! Are they nippy, and do they stay in hides mostly?

    Anything else guys?

I love how carpet's look, but I've never seen a smaller adult. They seem to always be really long. And I like the rainbows, I hadn't thought about them yet.

Not very colorful, but the Hognose is a great pet snake. As some have said, any number of corn snakes (insert morph name here). Kenyan Sand Boas are cool, but they often times are hiding in the substrate. Then there's one of my favorites, the Dumeril's Boa. Only the male will fit your length requirement.

    Good Luck!
