Pete - My Ball Python

He's a year old, names Pete :D I just recently bought him a new 48x24x12 PVC Enclosure(I'm not even close to being done with the setup yet).

Looks like a good start to the enclosure. With one that size you should consider more than 2 hides so that the snake can hide to feel secure when it needs to without sacrificing the need for the proper temperature. Typically, enclosed hides with a single hole are more desirable than the "half-log" type.

I'd say your enclosure has enormous potential though. :)

Thanks :D Yup i know, I'm just broke after i bought the Enclosure :P I will be buying more leaves, i just put a big rock in there, and new hides.

Alot of people say dollar store for your fake leaves but i suggest Walmart. my dollar store has 15 dollar plants compared to walmart with their 3 dollar plants.
and why stop with just one or 2 hides? give him 4 or even 5 clutter it up! lol
also if your having a problem with the humidity down the road with such a big enclosure Take a glad ware seal-able container that your snake can fit in very roomy,cut a hole in the top melt the cut sides with a lighter to smooth it out to prevent cuts, fill with moss and wet down generously, :gj: works wonders!

Nice enclosure for him, I'm sure he will be very happy in it. BTW he is a real cutie!

thats when you go to dollar tree where "everything is $1!". but i've never had luck either.

I used a giant driftwood twisty log looking thing to fill up space in my new girls tank, it filled up space well without having to add tons of stuff.

I love how he is stretched out using his cage to its full potential. :gj:

Welcome to the site! That tank is huge! It will be awesome when the BP is grown! Like the others have said, add some fake plants to fill in the space. Also, those log hides aren't very good hides for BPs. I use plastic flower pots turned upside down with a doorway cutout. You want the hide to be snug, the BP should have to ball up a bit to lay inside of it. You also need two identical hides.

We are all just wanting to help you out ;) BPs stress easily in large open enclosures, and when they are stressed they don't eat.

Thanks guys :) Hes super cool :cool: He's very active, and he's getting very chunky, i feed him every sat and Monday (twice a week). Ever since i got him a new 48x24x12 PVC Enclosure, he's been ever MORE happy :D
