Re: can any1 help ?
Probably just yawning. If he had a Respiratory infection he would be doing it alot. Some other signs of Respiratory Infection are:
-Wheezing, popping, or gurgling sound when breathing.
-Frequent face rubbing on the tank or furnishings
-Mucus or bubbles in the mouth or nostrils.
-Dried mucus around the tank from face rubbing.
-Constantly laying with the head elevated.

Hi,
Fairly easy to spot the difference.
Open mouthed breathing is when they sit with their head elevated and their mouth open ( sometimes partially sometimes fully ) for an extended period of time.
Yawning is when they open it wide for a couple of seconds then close it again.
If you rush over to check on it and it gives you a look of disdain - it was yawning.

Hi,
I have a horrible suspicion bouncing around my noggin about your vet.
Why does your vet think he has septicaemia in the first place and how does the snake react while he is ill with it? What did the tests say the last time he was treated for it?

Re: can any1 help ?
Hi,
well that's kind of a relief. I was dreading you saying his belly turned pink but that it got better after he shed.
I'm not even kidding - we had a vet over here sting someone for hundreds of pounds because the snake had a pink belly. It was a rainbow boa and it was supposed to be pink. :taz:
Have you any idea what is causing the infection that then spreads?
