Pastels?

So there are so many pastel shades out there but is there a "base" pastel? Or is ever didferent pastel out there been selective breed for a long time to get like a yellow, or a black or orange or the enchi type or is enchi in a pastel? soem guy on youtube jsut showed super enchi's 4 that he said are pastels as well.?

"Enchi" and "pastel" are two completely different morphs. (Even though the original name for enchi was "enchi pastel"....which I always found dumb because it's so confusing with the original pastel morph)

SO...when you see someone referring to an enchi-pastel...you'll have to figure out if they are referring to a COMBO of the two morphs...or if they're just using the original, confusing name.

As for the pastels...I'm not sure what you mean by a "base" pastel. They're already a base morph in and of themselves. There are different "lines" of pastels in which breeders started with and selectively bred for different traits. Lemon pastels TEND to be more brightly yellow with higher contrast blacks....Graziani pastels tend to be more deeply blushed....etc. But they're all pastels, and the lines have been mixed and matched so much, it's hard to state with certainty what one is without knowing it comes directly from a specific breeder.

In the begining a lot of morphs had "pastel" as part of the name;

Cinammon pastel (now referred to as just cinammon)
Black pastel (still called this)
Jungle pastel (the jungle pattern doesn't seem to be simple geneticly reproduceable)
Enchi pastel (now just called enchi )

Then there were what we currently call pastels which are none of the above. There are many line bred pastel lines with different looks - graziani, nerd lemon, blonde, stonewashed ( er I think ) and probably a few others I've forgotten.

holy crap lol, but can they make new morph between them selves or will it be like most snakes ive calculated and bee half the clutch one type and half the other.

Is is only 2 on the same morph that makes a new one? like mojave X2 makes leucictis.
But can you mix different morph to get a new one? or it is just super then designer supers or duds becuase gene wont make a living baby?

like a blonde and a cinnimon would make bloen and cini babies not soemthing new right, like a burgandy and lemon same thing?

I don't know of any combos that will split a clutch 50/50 without also giving you a shot at combining the genes in a single snake.

Spider x pastel = bumblebee
Pastel x enchi = pastel/enchi
pastel x pastel = superpastel
pinstripe x pastel = lemon blast
spider x pinstripe = spinner

and on and on....

A blonde pastel x cinny would give you a chance at hatching out any of the following:
normal
blonde pastel
cinny
pewter (pastel and cinny combined into one snake)

Hi,

Most of the morphs cou see will be combinations of different morphs - the bumblebee for example is a pastel and a spider.

In the example you gave a blonde and a cinammon could produce normals, blondes, cinammons and pewters ( pastel cinammons ).

All the lines of pastel are compatible by the way so a lemon bred with a blonde can produce normals, pastels and super pastels. :)

thanks alot, ive looked at some gene calculators but the square they give for an example gets confusing because ti shows normals as well as parent.

Some things ive read make it seem as easy as mixing colours but some it seems liek sticking a triangle in a circle hole.
