Black blood eggs!

Came home for lunch today and found this...

We had given up on the idea of getting any eggs from our Sumatrans this year and turned off the heat tape a few months ago. Fifteen nice plump eggs!

Very nice! They actually look like chicken eggs from this angle. Well, compared to a ball's eggs. Will they all be black?

Black bloods yes. As far as I know pretty much all Sumatran clutches should be about 50/50 dark and chrome heads though.

Thats awesome Chris, I hope to see the same in 2011 with the Caramels...I have heard problems with bloods rolling out the eggs, with that pic you just changed my mind from the ARS 8018 to ARS 8514 so i can get an egg/ nest box in there. :gj:

Good luck! That'd be awesome if you could pop out some caramels so soon. You'd be the second to produce them wouldn't you? As far as the eggs go, I'm not sure she would have had as much of a problem if I'd had her on mulch, something that would have kept them grouped together a little better. They were all stuck to the newspaper pretty good so there wasn't any way that she could have rounded them up if she had tried.
