Yeah sorry that was a mistype lol, I was just waking up when I made this thread and said blood tailed boa instead of blood python
And I agree, id rather get something a lot smaller. like 8 feet would be a good size
Re: Reasonable sized python?
fixed those errors for you :)
Re: Reasonable sized boa?
Well Bloods and Short Tails dont get anywhere near 8 feet, but they still wouldnt make a good beginner snake.
A carpet might fit the bill:gj:

Yeah ive heard about carpet pythons, althought I only really know about the Juguar and Jungle carpets, are those the ones that get to be about 8 foot?
Also, if I do get a carpet python how much will they weight at adult age/size (when they are like 8 - 9feet) and will they be 100% manageable by one person?
Thanks again!

Re: Reasonable sized python?
Also another question, Lets say I cant get ahold of a carpet python in my area, what other pythons are there that get to be similar lengths?
Like 7 - 9 feet is not that bad, But I hear 12 feet+ is unmanageable by one person. so anything 10 or below is fine
Any recommendations on what otherp ythons I could get that are like 7 - 9 feet? I wont be getting it anytime soon. A few months down the line after I get my ball.
Because I can work with my parents so money isnt an issue.
Re: Reasonable sized python?
most people wouldn`t recomend my first snake which was a Burm. he took 6 years to get to be around 11 feet. being a male, they don`t get as big as a female would. I feed him jumbo rats and chickens. For your age, maybe not a good idea, though it takes a little while for them to get that big. I have as you may already know a ball, a blood, and the burm. I also have a pastel redtail, which is not a python, but she is just as darling. and they don`t get that large. I have a female, so I`m waiting to see just how large she will get. I have to say, she is BEAUTIFUL!!! I`m told they only get to be around 7 or 8 feet. being that I already have a Burm, The size doesn`t matter to me. Maybe you might want to check into a pastel redtail. If you look in my gallery, her name is Matilda. she is also my avitar.
Re: Reasonable sized python?
Not sure if I was supposed to answer that in the redtail section. this site is very large. Please excuse any of my ignorance. I am trying to get used to and find my way around. I do get lost at times.
