First Handling and First Feed today. (pics not of feeding but of handling)

Okay so my BP had it's first feed today on live pinky. She almost seemed like she didn't want to and then she ate. Now she seems restless lol. I do have one worry and that's the aspen. She almost swallowed a lot of it. Any alternative bedding that works good please let me know. Or if she want get sick please reassure me lol.

she is now in the tree by the lamp. It was awesome lol. The date on my camera is wrong so ignore it.

For lil ones you can lay newspaper or paper towel down and sit their prey on it.
I switched strictly to paper towels on all of my snakes partly for this reason.

Pinkies are too small for that :snake: :D

Yup, paper towel will work great. You can even place it on the ground of the enclosure and then lure the snake onto it to eat.
Looks like a great snake. Will you be switching it onto frozen/thawed?

Glad she ate for you but pinkies are too small! She could eat a small adult mouse or a hopper at the least.

I would say try hoppers, pinkies are waaay too small.

I agree with the others: Feed larger. I made this same mistake for the first few months. I simply did not believe that my BP could eat something as big around as her widest point. But they can. And should. This is a common new owner mistake.

So mine went from this as a baby:

As for the bedding, you could switch to newspaper or paper towel. Something others do is put down paper towel right where they will be eating. Something still others do (and can start an argument!), including myself, is feed in a separate enclosure.

Haha. It's to give the viewer an idea of size.

Congratulations on your first feeding. You can also get a scale and weigh your snake, then take the scale to the pet shop and get feeders 10%-15% of your snakes weight. By the way, I do like those little yellow dots on her top lip...
