BP likes getting head stroked !?
Just wondering, my 4 month old normal started "liking" it when I stroked his head .. i GUESS he likes it, coz whenever i pick him up and start stroking the joint between his skull and spine, he just stays there, without moving. his breathing slows down too, and looks, well, weirdly at peace :D
could this maybe mean something else ?
i was only a little worried that i may be blocking his blood flow from his head or something.. :weirdface

otherwise, he's pretty active, and likes to explore when he's outside his tank.. and he enjoys watching my screensaver :snake:

Most snakes are rather head-shy, but there are a rare few that seem to "enjoy" having their heads stroked - my pastel boy Toby being one of them. :gj: Like yours, Toby will calm down when I pet his head, and almost go into a trance-like state. As far as I know there's nothing wrong with that, as long as they're otherwise acting normally!

They are all so different. One of ours likes if while you hold her you put 1 finger up....she will move her chin up back and forth on it.

Typically head shy, but there is a "third eye" on the back of the head that is a sensor. It can be a calming sensation for the snake. After you gain it's respect and it trust you to "stroke" it's head.

make sure if you have a toilet paper or paper towel roll in there that you cut a line down it so that the snake doesnt get caught in it. :)

I learned this the hard way.. i had to spend about half an hour trying to get him out.. will make a cut down the middle of the tube, so i can get him out if he gets stuck..

    Hi,

If the tubes are made of cardboard then it isn't really a problem - just getting it wet will make it easy to peel apart if he gets stuck. :)
