    Whats up!
I wish I had found this subforum first!

I am new tho snake raising. I had two garters as a kid and I loved them to death, but my mom made me give them away when she got remarried. So now older and freer I am restarting my snake collection.

I am really into Colubrids. Asian Ratsnakes and Corns. California Kings and Milks to. Though I'd some day like to branch out into balls and arboreal green pythons and Arboreal boas.

Hoping to get my first snakes soon so I am soaking up all the knowledge I can to be a good keeper. They'll probably be staying in my office by the TV though Until I can finish wiring and insulating my garage and turning it into a herp room.

Any advice is very welcome. Thanks in advance for your tolerance!

Do your research, and have lots of fun!

Arboreal boas and pythons like GTPs and ETBs are more for show, so if you want arboreal animals that are also really fun to handle, check out some of the moreila lines of carpets. :D

I love my colubrids, but I'm really falling in love with larger pythons.

    Welcome!

I hope you enjoy your stay here, you will learn so much! And tons of people on here have experience with a lot of different species of snakes, so maybe a few of the members on here could answer any questions you have on certain species and such. There's also plenty of caresheets to check out.

It's awesome you're getting back into herps, and you get to have your own reptile room. I wish I had my own LOL. Anyways, have fun during your stay here!

Well I wanna get experiance under my bely because I hear pythons are trickier. But I love the Look That GTP's and ATB's Have The rainbow boas to. PLus I like that they are fiesty. Still I wanna wait a few years and really know what I am doing. Work with The Colubrids I love, then move on to balls. Then plot my course from there.

Thanks! I have been looking over the site alot today and you guys have filled it with great info. I have 4 Asian Ratsnakes on the top of my to get list and I'm hoping someone can point me to Caresheets or First had experiances with them.

    Rhino Ratsnake ((Rhinoceros Ratsnake))
    Thai Red Mountain Ratsnake
    Chinese Red Bamboo Ratsnake
    Mandarin Ratsnake

I should probably start with a few Corns and a king. King in his own cage of course, but I just love love love those 4 ratsnakes in all the pictures and videos I have seen. So I'm torn.

The Herp room is a slow moving project but it's making headway. It was just an abandoned garage seperate from the house. So You know, gotta wire insulate, cover the garage doors, probably get a ceiling and new windows to. Lotta DIY work on the weekends but it will pay off when my little guys are happy (And away from the cats and TV which I doubt they will be nuts about).
