Our new baby, not sure what he is?
Ok so I'm as guilty as the next guy when it comes to looking on CL from time to time. Yesterday I saw this guy had posted a baby cinnamon BP for $50.

Right away I got suspicious, because no one is gonna sell a cinnamon for $50, so I ask for a pic. I can tell right away it's not a cinnamon, but it is pretty enough to merit a closer look, since the guy was local.

This morning hubby and I go to see the baby. A cinnamon it is NOT, he claimed a "buddy" sold it to him as such. But, I'm not positive it's a normal either. He's got some flames, a bit of blushing, and these crazy peachy/gold patches on his sides. I told hubby, since he's been thinking of getting one for his pet, this one could be his. If nothing else, it's a nice reduced pattern snake. So he came home with us. He's a little skinny, a little dehyrated, and we are still fussing with some stuck shed, but he's a little sweetie.

So, I'd like you guys to tell me what you think. We love him no matter what, but do you think he's a normal or maybe...???

That's definitely a normal. Sorry, but you got ripped.

Even for a normal I think it has good patterns. Maybe a little expensive for being a craigslist snake but you're saving his little life =D

As 'normal' as a pretty normal can be :D

They didn't necessarily get 'ripped'. They bought the snake knowing that it wasn't a cinny for $50. Most pet stores around here sell baby BP's anywhere from $75-$125.

Any way, I do think that you have a very nice looking, reduced normal. It's hard to say if it's got something special until you can prove it out genetically. Could be a fun little dinker project.

Yeah, we don't think we got ripped off. As I said twice in my post, we knew it was NOT a cinnamon.

However, it is a pretty little thing even if it's a normal. I just love it's peach sides, I wish I could get a good picture of them.

And how we look at it, granted we could have gotten a normal at an upcoming show for probably $25, a pet shop normal on sale is $80, so split the difference and it's not a bad deal, besides he's a little sweetie and he needed someone to love him.

Once we get a few good meals in him and he sheds out cleanly, we'll see if he changes.

I love his reduced patterning, he's really beautiful! I think you not only got a great deal on a nice snake, you also did a nice thing for a great cause. ;) From the sound of it, the poor thing was just suffering and needed you to come and save him. :D
