    Lucy price?
What's the average going rate for a Leucistic BP right now (blue and black eyed)? I've been dying to get one, but don't really know what a fair price is...could go to kingsnake, but I normally try to avoid those types of sites. There is a show coming up and I like to have an idea before I go.

    Thanks,

Why would you stay away from the generally used reptile classified when looking for prices on a reptile?

depends on what type of snakes made the bel really... mojo to mojo is prob the cheapest way to go about it.. a mojo to mojo bel would be right about 1200$ i assume.. then they go up.

I prefer to buy face to face and I've read in a few places that the pricing on those sites doesnt really reflect the market. Correct me if i'm wrong? I've only been into BP's for a few months now. Just looking for some guidance.

well the market online is that site it is the market. With your later info of wanting to by in person I would say that the Show pricing can change with every show but your best bet is gonna be 1400 on the low and 2000 on the high. Depending on the recipe in the Blue eye. Blk eyes are a bit more rare and the last price I saw on one was about 3500 to 4000.

The prices given are about right from what I've seen. Super Mojave is about where the pricing starts at around $1500 or so. Black eyed Lucies are quite a bit pricier. I'll take on of each please!;)

Well, the average KS/Fauna price for all combos of Blue-EL was in the $1600 range for Jul-Sep 09. In October, it dropped to just under $1400. (54% drop in price from the average this time last year. Ouch!) Like everyone else mentioned, the mojave-mojave crosses are the cheapest.

For Black-ELs, I haven't seen hatchlings for under $2500, and those are usually the ones with the yellow spots on them. For a clean white one, you're looking at an easy $3-4K.

This time of year, babies are at their cheapest and adults the most expensive (no one wants to feed the babies over the winter, and everyone wants to keep the adults to breed). You can definitely try negotiating the price down on a baby. I wouldn't pay more than $1200 for a mojave-mojave cross unless you just really like them.

Back to my crazy, number-crunching corner! Hope that helps! :)

If you want to buy something face to face about the only place you are likely to find a lucy is at a reptile show. Pet stores generally do not carry anything like that.
I would think your best bet is to go with someone who has a good reputation on the web. You can ask around about who that is with other people and just sit back and watch. You can check the boi. If I buy from someone online, I'd check them out real well prior to the purchase because there most assuredly are scam artists in the Ball Python world. My personal favorite for breeder I know I can trust is Ralph Davis.

    Thanks,

I have bought very little of my collection from shows, I have purchased the majority of my collection from breeders I have found on Kingsnake. I have gotten some amazing deals on stellar animals.
