Hatchlings= Bait & Switch????
It occurs to me that there are a lot of morphs out there that as hatchlings blow me away but as I see them as Juvy's and adults I'm disapointed and When I look at the prices of them I'd feel cheated.

That is exactly how I feel about Axanthics.

:yes: This is why I am only mildly interested in pictures of hatchlings. I enjoy seeing them, especially the fun combos....but mostly just because I like seeing their breeders be so happy and excited. I personally don't get excited about a morph/combo until I know what the adults look like. They're kind of like kittens and puppies. LOL They're only babies for such a short time...then they're all grown up forever. So you gotta love the grown up beast more than you love the baby.

That depends on the quality of the parents. My Axanthic comes from a line that stays "Grey" well into adult hood.

That's a part of why my herpetological interests include critters like carpet pythons and bloods - their colors _improve_ as they age! There are a number of BP morphs which are still beautiful as they get older, but a lot more which fade and brown out. I'd love to see more adult photos, so that I can form a clearer picture of what I'd like to see when I pull out a CB70.

I was looking at an axanthic combo right before I made my first post. The thing is for a lot of morphs its hard to find juvy and sub much less adult pics. Considering the amount of money involved I'm not surprised (although that may just be a sad commentary on my low expectations of people)
That's why there are morph combos that I can't get excited about

Another thing that comes to mind. At least for me, my personal tastes in favorite snakes and morphs tends to be very pattern oriented. I love unique and aberrant patterns. Colors may change or fade, but the patterns stay the same. :gj:

Most of them do get darker and duller as they age, that's why I enjoy breeding. I get to see them when they're at their brightest. There are a few morphs which do get better with age, like clowns or something with fire in it, but most do get darker.
