Re: What are the best hides for hatchling ball pythons?
I use small plastic bowls that I cut an opening in. If I'm out I will just put a couple of pieces of loose newspaper and they will go under.

I use the plastic crock water bowls. The 5 inch ones from walmart. I flip them upside down. Take a hole saw and drill a 2 inch hole in the top of the bowl. I guess it would be the bottom of the bowl. They have worked great for me. Up to about 300g or so. After that they get the hides taken out. Thats if they keep eating. If they stop then the get another hide with a bigger hole.
Here is a picture of what Im talking about.

The Pinstripe in the hide is just about ready for a hide with a bigger hole.

6 inches plastic flowerpot saucers work nicely for BP up to 200 grams ($0.80 each)

I use the small plastic flower pots, not the tiny ones. They work really well for hatchlings to about 400 grams.
