    my snake escaped. ;;
    ...not going to ramble about how she escaped.
    Anyway, I purchased a mouse, as of now, it's sitting in a box in the snake room where we think the snake is. I'm looking -everywhere- ...it looks like a tornado has hit the house. my mom said that this morning she heard a chrash or something..and that in the kitchen, a few bowls were overturned. I've looked under the fridge and in cabinets..now it's just the space behind the dishwasher...which is being taken out as I type. I assume that she escaped this morning based on what my parents have said. All I'm asking for is advice. Anything will help me...
    I never thought something like this would happen...I just hope my girl's okay. T_T

    They'll usually follow along walls and look for openings or crevices. And usually settle somewhere where its warm, like live electrical items such as refrig, dishwasher, stove, etc.

    ..I swear, I've torn my house apart. The dishwasher's not wanting to come out.. T_T I was away for two days, two whole days, and this happens. I can't depend on my parents...at all, for anything. I almost think they're the ones behind this and it wasn't an accident..I'm the one to blame for depending on them. I swear, this is the worst feeling I've ever had while owning any pet.
    My worst fear is finding, somewhere, a dead python.

    Ugh, I do not envy you in this situation- how awful :(

    At least BPs can go a while without eating :-/
    Perhaps leave some water dishes around? Then she would at least have access to water and prevent her from getting dehydrated until you find her. Leaving a boxed mouse on the floor is a good idea.. May convince her to come out of hiding.

    I wish you the best in your search for your girlie... Keep us updated!

    One thing I've learned when looking for escaped snakes is that they usually don't go far from where they escaped. They usually only go until they find a great place to hide and then they stay there. So normally, I'd suggest looking within five feet of her cage. However, the kitchen comment makes me wonder if she didn't go wandering farther than I would expect.

    Well take comfort in knowing someone on here said they lost their snake and it showed up today, over a month later, alive.

    Maybe if you think your rentals did something get one of those locks with a key?

    Sorry for the loss, but I'm sure he/she will be laying somewhere warm wondering what all the movement is about :)

    ..I've set up a tub with two hides, a heat pad, a bunch of crumpled newspaper, a live mouse on the floor of the snake room. No clue if anyone's tried this before..but, I'm trying to be optimistic. My snake's a great feeder and tomorrow, she'd usually recieve a few mice, so I'm hoping she'll come out.
    Oh, and I put some foil around the tub and scattered it throuout the snake room so I can hear her moving if she decides to come out. It comforts me slightly to know that after a month, her snake was still found alive, but I know that doesn't happen for everyone.
    I guess all I can really do is sit back, be patient, and hope for the best.

    Never been through this, but seen several threads where people suggested dusting the floor with flour. Around the stuff you've set up, along the baseboards, thresholds....so you can see any tracks that may help you figure out where its hiding.

    Keep us posted, good luck.
