Re: Besides Snakes...what's your favorite Herp?
I like crocs and gators but I've loved monitors since the first time I saw the rescuers down under ha..anyone remember Joanna?
Re: Besides Snakes...what's your favorite Herp?
Well, all monitors are awesome, but to keep I like the dwarf ones (You have monitors and giant lizards lumped into one =P) Tegus are awesome too!
I've neve had the slightest interest in turtles for some reason. *shrug*
Re: Besides Snakes...what's your favorite Herp?
I am going to have to say legless lizards. They are very odd and cool. Love them.
Re: Besides Snakes...what's your favorite Herp?
I would love to setup a really nice looking vivarium with some poison dart frogs, and maybe a red-eyed tree frog.
I also LOVE giant day geckos. So amazing to look at!
Re: Besides Snakes...what's your favorite Herp?
I love my Bearded Dragon and Tegu, the tegu is quite fascinating.
Re: Besides Snakes...what's your favorite Herp?
Big Gunns doesn't know if he already posted(senile), but hands down it's a Water Monitor. Although BG does have the coolest Rhino Iguana in the world.
Re: Besides Snakes...what's your favorite Herp?
I chose giant lizards. I love my lil green iguana :)
Re: Besides Snakes...what's your favorite Herp?
Definitely monitors for me. Unfortunately, I don't have nearly enough room or money to get one of these guys, nevermind start a collection.
Re: Besides Snakes...what's your favorite Herp?
I've owned some leopard geckos and iguanas in the past, and they're pretty cool... but I found the iguanas to be high-maintenance and temperamental (at least one of them), and the leos weren't easy to handle. So I'm sticking with snakes for now, but eventually I might like a couple of crested geckos and/or a panther chameleon. :gj:
Re: Besides Snakes...what's your favorite Herp?
I'm partial to frogs, newts, and 3 toed box turtle. We rescued one of the turtles 15+ years ago and it is still going strong. He still lives at my moms house and visits her Pre-kindergarten classroom multiple times a year. I clip his nails a few times a year but that's about all the maintenance he requires. We also rescued some White's tree frogs when I was in high school 10+years ago and they were really cool pets. They lived a super long time and the last one finally past a few years ago. My mom was super open minded so we grew up with animals in the house from rescues or our own purchases. We've had rescue iguanas, snakes, fish, birds, and many more I've forgotten about over the years. It was pretty cool to grow up in a household like that. I plan on doing the same someday when I have my own kids.
Regards,
B
