Mlededee, I've seen a few pieces that have been re-worked to make up for an iffy first tattoo; one in particular incorporated an off-center butterfly with a dragon that looked like it was chasing it. Maybe not my first choice for design, but it turned out pretty well. I was lucky in that my artist for my first piece was a friend of mine, and I was doing her a favor by being her first foot tattoo. If there was anything seriously wrong with it, she knew she was gonna hear from me again! :D

that's cool that it was your first tattoo and her first attempt at a foot tattoo. kinda makes the whole thing a little more special. i'm thinking of doing some sort of montage/collage type thing on my back to incorportate the butterfly using symbols and elements of things that make up my life and/or are important to me. it will have some lizards and a snake, maybe a cat, symbols and little artsy things that i have drawn or put in sketchbooks over the years, and some greenery and vines to kind of weave throughout it all to tie the whole thing together. that's my idea right now anyhow, but i have yet to draw anything out on paper. so we'll see.
