It's hard to see anyone's pet in pain or in a situation like yours, and I'm glad it all worked out.

To everyone here, shame! You can't assume anything through text. The OP could've been crying their eyes out as they wrote this, desperate for some reassurance that their baby will pull through. You never know what an owner is thinking, but by just posting on here shows that they knew something was wrong and came to what I think is the best resource on the internet (even for non-reptile problems!). We need to live up to that reputation and have a little less pointing fingers and a little more informing and helping. Yes, getting that snake to a vet ASAP is what needed to happen, but look, that's what they did!! Assuming makes an "a$$" out of "u" and "me"!

I think you might be joining the infraction club for your dollar signs. If so, :welcome:

I am glad that the vet got moved up and all turned out well. The fact still remains that the vet was NOT visited soon enough. When you ask for help and you get the same answer from everyone, how many times does it take before you do it? Really upset me, but yall prob figured that out. ;)

On another good note a certain person gave me two red reputation tags for different post on this thread. I thank you. Your :number1:

Wait, Red? That cant be good! CHECKING.......NOPE, NOT GOOD! So much for the friend request. They prob did it just cause I from Texas and drive a truck instead of a Hy-Bred, and thats against the rules. Thanks buddy. :tears:

I do believe they may need to change their name. Maybe something like Soft-One, if its not taken.

I do admit that my camouflaged word didn't have to be there. But its since been removed by Big Brother and I doubt most of yall saw it. So getting tagged with red for expressing my, yes angry, but passion filled opinion kinda bothers me. I realize that we have rules here but other than my one word, which this person didnt see, I fell within them. Thats why the post was still there to be read. My intent was not to hurt the persons feelings but show that this was a serious matter that I didnt feel they were handling correctly. I hope in the future they take the forum advice more serious.

    However,

This is still America and if I have something to say, you can bet I will say it. Yes, I would even say it to their face(see past post). I am a very opinionated person and I dont back down from my values or beliefs. Plus, nice didnt seem to be working so you have to turn it up sometimes. I find it hard to believe that a single person on here has not been yelled at sometime during their life. If I hurt your feelings with some yelling text(the only way to really show feeling in these post) you should just avoid my post. That way your feelers dont get hurt, and you can save some tissues. :salute:

Im a nice guy but can not stand when an animal is not properly cared for. It really gets my hot. :angered: Sorry for being human.

    Two things.

    1. Ass is not a censored word. The context in which you use it could be cause for an infraction (as in, you may not call someone an ass).

    2. You did not get an infraction - you received a WARNING, reminding you of the TOS that you agreed to when you joined the forum.

As far as the Big Brother comment - yes, if you draw attention to yourself by chest thumping yourself, critiquing staff because you think it wins you cool points, etc - yeah - that will definitely put you on Big Brother's radar.

You certainly are making a big to do about a simple ZERO point warning. If you want to really be part of the cool infraction club - you could continue taking pot shots at the staff and the site and get a really BIG infraction! :gj:

Ok, so ass is not banned except in certain usage.

Not an infraction, a warning. What does a infraction hold for punishment? I looked on the forum but couldnt seem to find the punishments.

I was not critiquing the staff, I admitted that I should not have used the word I did.
The Big Brother comment was not to call out the staff or do "chest thumping." I just stated what happened without using your name or handle. Not trying to anger yall. Just presenting the facts that this other member is flagging me for my freedon of speech, you had removed the word before he saw my post and therefor I felt the red flags were unwarranted.

The reference to red tags was not about the warning or you. I was refering to the flaging member that hit me with two red reputation flags on my PM. One for two serperate comments on this thread.

Again I was not talking about you and agree I messed up. I was trying to let the flaging member know that I did not agree with his choice without breaking any other rules thats why I left his handle and yours out of the post. Not trying to step on toes, just trying to work within the rules. I have no problem with the staff, you were doing your job. Not mad at you.

I actually was not the one who gave you the warning.

Comments about reputation that other members may have left you are only allowed to be discussed in a thread in Quarantine. If you do not have access to Quarantine, please send me a PM requesting access and I'll get you set up. Here's the link, once you have access:

If any member feels compelled to make a public statement about any reputation comment they have recieved, it must be made in this thread. Any such statements made in other threads, or new threads started for that purpose will be deleted without warning or notice. This sort of public statement does NOT mean your complaint will recieve any staff attention. If you have a genuine concern about a rep comment you have recieved, you must address it in private with the staff.
Keep in mind that reputation left for you is a way for your peers (not staff) to let you know that they agree with your comments or that they don't. It's a good barometer check to let you know how your messages are being received.

Here is the link that explains infractions and the penalties - up to temp and permanent bans from the site.

Glad to hear she is better. From looking at that picture, it didn't look good. Please post pictures so we can see her now!

Can we see and read some more detail about how this was resolved? The doctor told you it was a muscle spasm? If a muscle spasm caused the snake to hold in that position, it was in pain. The fact that you said the doctor assured you it wasn't makes me question the whole thing. My sister - who admitted she can't be 100% sure based merely on what you posted here and those 3 pictures, also thinks something is off with 'welp, took it to the vet and the fixed it and its fine and eating now.' You also mention in the OP that you palpated the area. What was the snake's reaction to that? Was it holding its neck like that the whole time or on and off? How did the rear part of its body move? Did it lift its head off the ground to move or kind of 'drag it along?'

I'm also curious to see the resolved picture of this issue. Considering the fact it looked broken, I'm almost in disbelief that it could be so easily fixed. That's an awesome answer, considering how dire it looked.

If you could tell us more about the resolution to the problem, and how your vet went about it, that would be awesome! Imagine if this happened to someone else. This would be great information to be able to provide them :gj:

It would have been appreciated if you all would have asked me about things before badgering me and saying some of the things you did. When a person's first post on a forum is a request for help and they get an answer like this, it isn't a very good welcome.

'On the way home' was referring to 'On the way out of the show'. I bought Hadassah when I was leaving.

I did not notice the injury until I got her home to put her in her tank, when I confronted Brandon about the issue. Yes, I agree he handled her wrongly.

However, before you all yell at me some more, you should know that I got her into the vets early. Her spine is not broken, nor are any of the bones fractured or out of place. The kink was caused by a pulled muscle, and it was determined that it was not giving her any pain. She is now well (Kink fixed) and ate fine today. She will be able to be bred.

@Kaorte: Thank you for not judging by what you saw, and for taking into consideration how I may be feeling.

You are most welcome :) I am just really glad that the little one is okay. It would break my heart if she had to be put down!

I'm also really glad you posted an update despite all the negative comments. I know you would do the best you could and get to a vet as fast as you could. I'm sure you care just as much about your animals as all of us. Just because you don't put every detail on the forum doesn't mean you aren't doing the best for your animal!

There was a lot of jumping to conclusions on this thread, I hope some people can realize that isn't always the best option. Everyone deserves the benefit of the doubt.
