Re: Do you smoke?
I do not smoke. Used to smoke a pack a day for 3 years and can now no longer even stand the smell of it. I start feeling sick and very light headed if im around it anymore.

No. Humans are fueled by wants, not by needs. Certainly the desire to smoke is a want. It is not a need.
Those who have all of their needs met will still have wants. This is part of the human condition. It is wanting to learn that fuels science, the want of an easier life, technology.
However, not all wants are so productive. Wanting to smoke most certainly is not. Wanting may lead us to some of our greatest achievements, but it can also lead us to the depths of depravity, or to a slow, agonizing death.

Re: Do you smoke?
I've been smoke free for 2 years!!! Woot! I don't mind if people smoke around me outside, but I can't stand to be around smoke outside.

I agree with this. Everything you do is the result of what you think is the best for you at any given moment. Usually it takes great effort to do what you need, rather than what you want.

I don't mean to offend, but isnt that a little off? You smoke and he dips.... and you get on him about stopping? Hes doin no damage to others around him, but if you smoke around others (not your kids), its second hand smoke....
my advice is to quit together!

Re: Do you smoke?
Nope don't smoke, I know so many people who do so I have learned to deal with it though I dont like it at all, on occassion I will have a cigar with a few friends only because I think ti is much different than smoking cigarettes. I feel like it is much more classy and/or sophisticated and is usually done during different outings rather than on a regular basis.

Needless to say, I've never been the least bit tempted to try it.

Re: Do you smoke?
I smoke. I grew up with a family history of Tobacco users, and I did not break the chain. Its not bad, I can easily make a pack last four-five days, and if it doesnt I will not let myself get another until the week is up. This way I feel I am at least controlling my addiction.

Re: Do you smoke?
I do. My Grandpa died of lung cancer, and never touched a cig his whole life. Another friend of mine quit and two weeks later was killed in a car accident. I believe if it's your time, your going no matter what.
Although, I know a few people with asthma and other breathing problems. So, I don't smoke around people. I would walk miles to make sure my bad habit only effects me. :)
I do want one of the electronic cigarettes. Hopefully I'll have one by christmas time. They are expensive, but cheaper than a load of health bills down the road.
