Re: Have you taken your BP to work or anywhere else?
So I guess no run-ins with the law:D That's good....

I did have someone tell me a rather horrifying story about how their cat ate (half) their cornsnake.
Re: Have you taken your BP to work or anywhere else?
Ouch, I would like that at all!!
I've got 3 cats so if Samson had to get out his tank he'd be a goner.:taz:

Wonderful photo! That might be a botm winner in the making.
I have taken our ball python to my 3 yr old's nursery school and the public library for "snake education" presentations. On other occasions, I took our Kenyan sand boa to the library and our rosy boa to the nursery school for education events, too. Our ball also took a trip to a friend's house for the kids to see/meet/handle.
The herp group I am helping form is doing a herp education show for kids on June 24th at a larger venue for the library's summer science program. I will take the ball, the rosy, and the kenyan sand all there. I would love to take our jungle carpet python, but he is too jumpy.
We take them out on "walks" in the yard - let them go in the grass or just handle them outside (jungle carpet gets to climb small fruit trees) when the weather is warm and sunny - mostly that's the ball, the jcp, and the black rat in rehab. They all love "getting air" and having sun, etc. We just keep the dog and cat at a distance and supervise very closely.

I take my male ball pythons, and my large female JCP out to my churches ball field, and i have a two finger rule, no grabbing, pinching, whatever, and i always have them pet towards the tail, normally if im going to walk around with my JCP my mom is with me walking ahead looking for the people afraid so i dont freak them out...
the balls i just keep up close to me if i am walking thru a bunch of people....
my big male is awesome with kids, he is doctile as mess... but whenever i have one with me, like i said, normally i stay clear of people i dont know, or that i know has a fear... =] and i give my little speach to kids... its fun actually
as for the law... the ball park manager personally told me that my snakes are better behaved then the dogs that arnt aloud at the park... and as long as i clean up any poop... im clear... people get upset tho cause it says "no dogs" on a sign... but i have my snake...
but snakes are easier to read attitude and aggression wise in my view

Agreed. Your BP is hardly gonna gallop up to some kids and them knock them down playfully like a dog could. But then again people are used to dogs, not so much snakes
