Man feeds puppy to boa.. wait... what?

Cruelty to animals refers to treatment or standards of care that cause unwarranted or unnecessary suffering or harm to animals.

as defined by Wiki.

Now in my eyes the reason was

He used a puppy for prey, had 2 kids watch, coated the puppy in oil and fed it to his neglected snake.

Seriously...90 days.

All animals whether they are prey or not should be treated with respect. and this one wasn't.

If you do it merely for entertainment...it's wrong.

He's in jail because supposedly companion animals go through more grief than prey animals during death/feeding and as such it's animal cruelty. Which I don't agree with.

Feeding a puppy being more cruel....


I could see how a dog would show more emotion, understanding, and "love" towards a human, compared to a rat, mouse, rabbit, or guinea pig. Towards being more cruel in a pain type way, it may not be. However the fact is if this is morally right or wrong....and simple fact is it's wrong. Dog's aren't being bred for feeders. They aren't being posted for $2.50 a pound to feed your giants or what have you. They're kept, produced, and such as pets and companions. This is what separates it!

I wonder whether this puppy was a stray or whether he got it from somewhere (like an adoption) under the guise that he would be providing it a good home. It doesn't mention in the article. It's not like you can go to the store and ask for a box of feeder puppies.
