Wanna purchase a bridge? I was gonna put it on eBay, but you can have first dibs. By the way, since you are not the least bit bothered by rising gas prices, yet you are "far from rich", at exactly what price will you start to complain or change your lifestyle?

"Chevron released its results after two of its biggest rivals, ConocoPhillips (COP) and ExxonMobil (EXM), already provoked public outrage with similarly large first-quarter profits. Combined, the three oil companies earned $15.7 billion during the three months of the year.

Oil and gas companies are enjoying an unusually robust quarter, propelled largely by the surge in oil prices due to fears of supply disruptions and booming demand in Asia."

I bolded the main part of that. Prices aren't high because of the cost of crude oil. They "fear" disruptions, they didn't have any disruptions, just feared them. You can believe whatever you want, I will believe the bottom line is the same as every other cooporate company, profit margin. They will do and say whatever they can to get the higheest profit margin they can. As long as people believe their excuses, they will continue to give them.

I'm not going to argue this anymore, have a nice day.

I am w/ you. What I don't get is why do you have to keep raising prices if your making a 39 billon dollar profit in a year which I think was EXM profit margin for last year ( I could be off by a few bil ) I mean really...39 billon not enough or say only making a 29 billon profit this year and not keep raising prices. It's all about the $$ and a little thing called greed. The whole middle east war/crisis is just a good excuse to raise the h*ll out of prices.

The economy will be hurt pretty bad after a few days, so the govt. might step in as well. We strike until gas dips to $1.59 per gallon. How's the week of June 25th sound for everyone? I'll do it. No, well we can start a nation wide boycott of all BP-Amoco and Exxon-Mobile companies and products. If thay aren't selling gas they might be forced to lower prices. That's too much work, too. Let's just complain about it until we are paying $8.00 per gallon.

That strike idea sounds fun; I could really use a vacation :)
But it would be too much of a financial hit to me, I know that. I really wish I could just work from home and only drive to get groceries, etc. I feel fortunate that my daily commute is only about 35 minutes roundtrip; my poor fiancee has a 30-mile-one-way trip to work 6 days a week.
