Henna for Hair!

Acutally, most of the oompa loompa bits washed off in the first shower! There were a few spots on the back of my neck that took two showers--and I still have a couple spots on my arms where I got henna on them during the process. I guess it washes off of the facial area faster than the body area :)

Sweet color Kim! Also, it's good to know that I'm not the only one who colors her eyebrows. :D I'd do my eyelashes too if it was safe, but with Henna....I might just try it...maybe.

Being an albino, I LOVE coloring my hair and since it's naturally white, I can color it any color my little heart desires. I and my hubby like me best in red hair, so that's usually what it is and the color of yours, (the 6 days after) is generally how mine turns out (with dervitive tints) then fades a bit more every time I wash it. :(
I've considered giving Henna a try for quite a while seeing as how I'm a bit of a "all natural" freak, but have never actually gotten around to it.

I may just have to break down and do it now....you have tempted me. :p

If you do it, since it sounds like you've had colored hair--make sure you're using PURE body-art-quality henna (like they sell at that website). A lot of stuff you can buy in stores isn't pure and some of the metals they add to the henna can turn your hair pretty nasty shades of green over dyed hair, from what I've read!

Also--it's really neat that you're an albino! It must be fun to play with your hair! :) Henna would probably be BLAZING orangy-red on you!

Hehe--if you do decide to give it a whirl you should DEFinitely post the results up--I'm curious to see!

Yeah, I've seen the results of a bad henna job. I'm a cosmetologist so....;) I would absolutely test it before I did it. Since I already color my hair red but the roots are white (obviously), I'll probably cut some hair from the nape of my neck to test; that way I can run several tests to see how different the color would be in the pre-colored areas and the non colored area. I'll also be experimenting with several color combinations to see what they would look like right after as well as after oxidation has a chance to set in....because I don't want to look like Ronald McDonald, especially since my hair goes to my waist. :eek:

I have had a lot of fun coloring my hair over the years. I've colored it just about every color from true platnum (a primer color) to black....the platnum was very cool, it was truely silver and the black was.....YIKES! My husband thought it was cool but I hated it.

Of course with me, since *all* of my body hair is white I can color more than just my hair and eyebrows....and I'll leave the rest of that thought alone. :O :D

If I can get the hubby to remember a battery for the camera, I will most certainly take some before and after pictures. Red bleeds out of my hair more quickly than any other color since I don't have pigment in the hair shaft for a tint to adhere to so the henna should be interesting seeing as how it adheres differently to hair than derivitive tints.

Either way, I'll have a lot of fun testing samples, that's for sure. :D
