I really think that if someone intends on owning a burm or other large snake, it is useless for them to think that they should start off with something small like a BP. The best way to see if ownership of a huge snake is for them, would be to get hands-on experience with an experienced handler and their snakes. Why should someone who dreams of owning a burm, be told to go out and get a BP that they might not want, and end up dumping a few years down the line?
Sorry that this thread did get hijacked; to the OP: if your dream is to own a burm, I am definately saying to follow that dream. As long as you've had sufficient training and hands-on experience with them, and have one or more willing helpers for when it is large, the sky's the limit!

Well thanks to everyone who is supporting me!
Ginevive that just the beauty of it... if my gentle giant ever got to much for me to handle that local pet shop with the three adults offered to adopt her if need be. Kind of like giving me a chance to own the giant and get used to everything involved with them. I don't plan on giving her up! But it is nice to have a back up plan!
