Cris,
Going back and putting this forum post in a timeline with my emails from you,
You were asked...

I answered "Yes" because they ARE also called children's pythons.
If you asked me "Are these pure children's or crosses?" like you were asked by SPJ I would have stated...
"I do not know the exact genetics. They could be."
and you could have said "Ok, I'm not interested, but thank you anyways"
BUT.. thats not how it went. As I posted to Judy, I wish I saw the post prior because I could have avoid the whole misunderstanding, but you did not mention this post until after you posted a picture and someone mentioned one looked like it wasnt a pure childrens.
When you contacted me about that I was honest and remedied the issue. It was a misunderstanding.

Re: anyone have a childrens python?
You're lack of knowledge is pretty sad.
My PURE childrens came from VPI and Isis Reptiles. Their lineage can be traced. Micheal Beach has PURE childrens pythons AND PURE spotted pythons. His animals lineage can be traced. Bob Clark has PURE animals. Need I continue?
For you to insuate that there are no pure animals is insulting. Some of us that do work with these animals strive to keep the line pure and not muck them up.
The reason pure lines are difficult to find is because of people like you who sell 2 seperate species and label them as one to uninformed buyers.
You still have not addressed the fact that these animals you were selling were NOT breeding size and one was noticeably thin.
You quote your stellar reputation but the fact of the matter is, these animals are not what you told the seller they were. You know, Chris Johson had a stellar reputation at one time.

Again, if you read the posts it was stated that the picture was from several months ago and they will breed this season.

Rick,i dont know you personaly ,but when i noticed the pic of those "pythons" you were trading to the poster of this thread i was concerned.I do know of your rep on fauna and other sites.I think when you resell those snakes it might be a good idea to post the "not knowing the genetics part" in your ad for them. Now just like Steve has allready stated there are PURE childrens pythons in the reptile trade. If you like i can get the breeders info so you can buy some PURE childrens pythons. With all the scams going on lately things like not mentioning the genetic info before a trade or sale is completed will raise suspicion.I am not saying you were attempting a scam here at all just giving you some info to prevent problems in the future. Now here is a pic of my PURE childrens python. http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a1...thon112006.jpg

Re: anyone have a childrens python?
My apologies for making the comparison.
I let my temper get the best of me. I am very passionate about trying to keep my animals pure and offer pure offspring. I have invested a lot of time and money finding pure animals and it really rubs me the wrong way when people claim all of the animals in the market are mutts.
Case in point. I would love to produce a red phase granite but that would mean crossing one of my red phase childrens with a granite spotted. Although I think a red granite would look really nice, I would rather not cross animals to produce it. It's one of those things where even though I think it would look beautiful, I'd kick myself for messing with the animals if I attempted to try and make it.

Joe,
This was a misunderstanding that continues to esculate. When I put them up as "Australian Dwarf Pythons" my intention was to NOT sell them as any one species, such as the children's python, because I was unsure of the genetics. Looking back, yes.. I wish I put "unknown genetics", but that's hindsight. At the time, I did not feel I was being misleading. Since my intention was not to mislead, yet it turned out that way, it is a misunderstanding. Since there was a misunderstanding, the most professional thing I could do is make it good with cris. So I did.
I did NOT trade this as "Children's Pythons". I was asked if they were ALSO called childrens. I assumed, perhaps incorrectly, that cris was looking for care & husbandry information, so I said yes. Not to mislead, but to help her find some care sheets.
This is going on and on and on, not because of my intentions, but fueled by peoples dislike of 'hybrids'.
I do appriciate your open mindedness & honest, constructive comments, but at this point it is starting to get dirty in here with name calling so I am done here. For the record, using hindsight to guide me, I would indeed add some genetic info (or info related to the lack of it) just to avoid this misunderstanding in the future.
Sincerely,
Rick

I can understand, and even respect you passion for pure lines. I however can not respect you going so low and putting me in a group with Chris Johson when you do not even know me and you are using one misunderstanding against me. Instead of offering a bit of professional courtesy you go off the deep end and assumed I was trying to rip cris off.
I am done on this thread. It's going round and round, but going nowhere. If you would like to discuss this further in a professional manner. Give me a day to collect myself and then feel free to PM or email me.
