Well, ErikH, I said a month or two because they're supposed to be sending another shipment in December. A million consoles I believe. I've been looking at the shipping dates where I work. But that's where my information comes from. I plan on getting PS3...just not at $5,000.00 :(

That could be, but it was my understanding that they were guaranteeing a million counsoles before the end of the year, including the 400,000 that were shipped for today, which still makes for a scarce item. If you got your name on a waiting list before today, you might get one, but it is my understanding that most retailers are not taking any more names until everyone who has already reserved one has got one. I'll be honest, if I had the money to spend, I probably would drop 5 grand on one, but I don't, and that's that. I am perfectly content to wait until next year; by then there will be more games available, anyway.

Yeah, I got connections though. Muahaha. Anyway, I'm waiting like 6 months so they'll have enough on the shelves by then.

I guy I work with was trying to get one. Another guy here has a sister who works for a game store and got her hands on one, but I don't know if it was the base model or the $600.00 one. She wanted $2500 for it, but he declined. I have a feeling she might up her price the way things are going.;)

You "know"???? ... I'm sorry, but you don't know me at all, let alone what I would and wouldn't do ... my son wants a PS3 for Christmas and if I have to pay $5,000.00 to get him one so be it. He's the best kid in the world in my eyes and with the amount of money I bring in a year, 5K is a small price to pay to get him what he wants and see that smile when he opens all his presents Christmas morning ... does not matter to me what I can get it for after Christmas, that doesn't help me at all.

I'm a gran turismo junkie...The main reason i even bought a PS2 when they first came out was for gran turismo 3 lol... Of course it wasn't the day that they dropped but maybe a few weeks after. When gran turismo 4 dropped, it was in blockbuster before the stores...I surely went to blockbuster paid the $5 to rent for the week and asked them at the counter what I had owed them because it wasn't coming back...They were a little puzzled but sure enough I had to wait a week and pay them $40 for the *lost* game hehe...Now with the playstation 3 coming out and the new Vision gran turismo I'm tempted but It will be quite some time before I buy one...I don't think
V. gran turismo will be out until early 07' anyways but I am definitely siked for it...

Call me crazy if you will for being so siked about a racing video game but... People shooting other people for a freakin gaming console??? If they're going to be that crazy why don't they just rob a bank?? How bada$$ or ruthless are you when you tell your inmate bubba that your in the can for attempted robbery of a playstation...hahaha...Absolutely pathetic! :rofl:
