    even with a UTH you still need a t-stat. ;) it keeps it from being too hot for your snake esp when you use newspaper as a substrate (or paper towel).

    perhaps, your snake was on the bottom of the cuddle pile and it got burned?

    but... that couldn't be it cause a herp vet would recognize a burn!

    no i have one for the tank ...where can i get one that controles the heater..also if it were too hot how come the other ones did not get burned ???

    was the vet you took the snake to a herp vet? cause if it was and your vet has never seen anything like this before... then it can't be from heat or rot... cause any good herp vet would recognize that.

    we really need some pics!

    Ok I think im a little confused, how do you have a t-stat for the tank but dont have one for the heater?

    so you have a thermometer but not a thermostat? cause we are asking about a t-stat or thermostat...

    what kind of thermometer do you have? digital? how many temps does it take at once?

    From all the reptile shows you have been to and all the peopel you have talked to, not a single on reccomended a thermostat?
