It would be frustrating. But at least you know now. And it doesn't matter... cuz Drake is a sweetie!


Hog crosses can be a lot of fun. I know a family that has two---the mother has one and the daughter has one. The mother's cross has the typical Hoggie attitude, hissy as all get out when she's eating... thinks she's hot stuff. But Fish, the daughter's cross, is a total sweetheart, no matter the time of day. And their colors are so variable, too. :)

Both of these little girls look more like Columbians. But here's something different: Clay English has these two up for sale right now. They're Hog by Pastel Columbian:

As you can see, they range from looking like normal Redtails, to looking very orange, very Hog-ish :)

i don't know proper terms but... the design on their bodies look just like my lovey drake! very defined.

is that what you mean by looking columbian? and are those patterns called saddles?

Yeah, the patterns are called saddles.


I say they look more Columbian, because Columbians usually have well-defined, brownish saddles, silver/brown bodies (silver as babies, brown as adults) and bright red tails (at least, when they're younger... most Columbians' tails turn darker as they age). Hoggies typically have lighter saddles and are usually more orange/yellow.

yup sev looks just like drake! so now i understand what you all mean... i wasn't sure what you were talking about before... LOL... thanks for explaining it!

well all the email conversations with my breeder have finished. he's refunding me $100 to cover the cost of drake's mites and to reduce the cost further :colbert: due to him being a cross... i got a deal on him to begin with so in all i paid approx $150-175 less because of him being a cross.

i want to thank you all for your support :hug: and assistance through this... without your knowledge :2cent: and courage to say what you believe... i wouldn't have known he was a cross.

Glad you got back an amount that makes this a better deal for you. Drake is still gorgeous and will be an awesome snake for years to come!

i agree... he's just soooo darned cute. ;) since he's in shed i can't hold him so instead i'm staring at his pictures.:P yup 'pathetic' is my middle name LOL
