    Another question from the peanut gallery. I am noticing words like "spider", "ghost", and "clown" when refering to ball pythons. what does it mean and is there a link someone might know where I can do some reading on the subject?

    So the pattern of the snake determines what its called? How do you tell what you have, and if there is such a thing as a "normal" BP, what is that called?

    Normals come in all shades of browns and golds and all types of patterns.

    The morphs are genetic patterns or colors and not random. Don't know if that helps any or not.

    yes, it does help. thanks. so I guess I have a "normal" BP, if you could say anything is my household is "normal". :P

    I've never owned a normal pet in my life lol

    You'll see normals referred to as "wild type" too though they aren't specifically wild born. That always confuses me LOL. The neat thing, even with the "normals" is you can usually tell them apart easily. We have 5 normal female BP's and each of them is just so totally unique, even the kids can tell who is who at a glance.
