The basement construction is over. The painting is done. The carpentry is done. The floor and ceiling are in. The electrical is done.

We have spent the past week decorating with my sister Sarah in town who is an Interior Designer and designed and decorated the room makeover.

We are in the process of getting rid of boxes and finding homes for everything. Once done, I will post pictures.

Oh, and the Reptile area is awesome!

    Stay tuned!

Wow! What a saga on numerous fronts. Glad that you have your health back first and foremost. Thanks for your support systems that came through as well. True that when it rains it can also pour. However, there is always someone out there that is in a more difficult and dire situation. So we have to be thankful for the ability and wherewithal to even attempt healing. I feel and read you’ve come a long way back! Blessings to you and the family for a brighter future my friend. :)

    So................

We ended up with mold in the house because of the basement flood last year.

We had it in the finished basement and the upstairs too.

We had to have it remediated last week. This meant moving the reptiles out for 2 days and me and Katie and the dogs out for almost 24 hours. It was an ordeal!

The reptiles ended up getting put in plastic containers and stayed in the in-laws finished basement closet (with heat and light, etc.). The in-laws hate reptiles, but were troopers and kind enough to let them stay for 2 nights.

Last night they stayed in my office, which was sealed off and not remediated. Today everyone went back to their enclosures and were happy to be back. Everyone seems unharmed and unfazed although everyone is hungry. The snakes haven't eaten in a month because I wanted them empty and the remediation was supposed to happen last week. The lizards hadn't eaten in a week. Everyone gets fed tomorrow.

Katie, who has asthma, is already breathing better.

I am hoping for no more surprises and no more house work for a long time!

Oh NO! After all you've been thru, you had still more to deal with! :taz: That's awful- I'm so sorry for your ordeal, just when you thought you could relax. This had better be the end of the nightmare, eh? :please: Good for Katie, though.

I'm glad that the issue got taken care of and so quickly!

I hope that there's no more surprises of this kind in store for you for a long time.

Want to close the loop on the mold issue.

Carra (LG) ate last night, Frank (BTS) ate today, and all 7 snakes gobbled down their meals tonight.

Everyone seems fine and settled back in from the ordeal. I am glad everyone ate and seems to be right back into their routines.

Let's hope you're disaster-free for a LONG time to come now. Nice to have all the animals fed & relaxing too.
