First question I always get after mentioning my snakes...
"You have snakes... and children... in the same house?"

And then they look at me like an unfit dad or a maniac. I had no idea the phobia surrounding snakes was so ridiculous.

Funniest part is sometimes these same people own pitbulls, train them mean, and leave them unwatched in their yard.

Was a chip that fell off my shoulder, I suppose. I have children, two boys, both toddlers, both love our pythons. People often looked shocked when I tell them about, or show off pics of my snakes. I get frustrated having to explain that ball pythons are great snakes to have around children, relatively docile, never killed a single human being. An insulting irony to have to explain my snakes being safe to people who have dogs with long histories of assaulting and killing people.

Anyway. Someone in the thread use the words "my kids" or something. Pardon me if I confused.

My sons' first time with a royal at Petsmart just before we got our own.

I do think there was some misinterpretation there. That is a feeling we can all relate to but it seems completely out of the context of this thread.
