Yes we have someone with availability very close, he is a friend and pet shop owner whom we go to for rat pups, mice and now quail.
he has been breeding for quite some time so quail are always readily available

Speaking of the flying or winged variety of animals ;P My fiance wants to breed chickens and the end result will be mounds of adorable, cute, pecking chics.
I want to feed them to my snakes :l
Not all of my snakes. Just my boa constrictors when they are eventually large enough. It will be a pretty cheap food source since he'll be breeding tons of them. I know ball pythons can get pretty emotionally attatched (kidding) to their food, but are BCC and BCI's the same way? I know this is off base, but I saw the comment about a quail and I was like hm, maybe I should ask.

you bring up something that has always puzzled me. in the wild don't balls get a choice a variety? why do we have to scent take rats with mice? why doesn't instinct say "fooooooodddd".

I think rats are the healthiest, I think. Maybe balls are just born knowing to go for the good food as opposed to unhealthy or fattier alternatives? I am not sure.
If only humans could choose the salad over the guinea pig as well. The world we would live in xD

yes they can eat chickens as well, just watch the size of the check to the girth of your snake.

I believe it. Honestly I wanted to feed my ball pythons all kinds of things before I was told about their picky nature. I thought to myself, baby rabbits are full of practically everything and have 2x the amount of a rat. But when I looked into it, there were little tiny, key components missing out on every animal I sought as a food source. Components they needed in their diet. Someone finally told me that yes, some animals are better in some aspects than rats, but when it comes down to it- rats are all they need. So risking getting them something optional would just get me into trouble. But if you say your animal was having a hard time eating and the quail got her craving, then awesome.
You are the parent so it's your discretion. And all the better if they are readily available.
Crap. Now I want to get some Quail egg shooters from a sushi bar. This whole thread has me craving.
