Introducing Littlefoot & Cera (Savannah Monitors)

They are growing an inch a week.

Got some unusual shots today.. They have a whole network of tunnels under the surface.. pretty cool.

This hole on the surface is quite small, I set the cam on macro and shined a flashlight down the hole to get these.

The tunnels connect and I can often hear them hissing down under the surface.

Basking.... Littlefoot is sprawled out flat, this is common to maximize surface area to absorb radiant heat from above.

Here we can clearly see the nictitating membrane (third eyelid) "blinking" on the right eye.

Very cute :) I love pictures! The close-ups of Littlefoot's face is priceless *nods* ... I used to have a western red painted turtle named Little Foot. Great name!

That enclosure is awesome. I love their big blue tongues!

I can't believe how fast they're growing! That cage doesn't look nearly as big as it used to! :P

You are correct, Planning on building an addition to the cage soon.

Giant step in the trust department, Littlefoot came out and walked right onto my leg.
